MJC Shafts and Rolls has the facilities and skills to meet the high-purity welding process specifications for gas and fluid distribution systems, and produce weldments for ultra-sanitary assemblies that include ASME Section IX certification for both manual TIG welding and automatic orbital welding.

Alloys and dissimilar metals
Automatic orbital fusion welding is typically used for fabricating the components in a stainless steel process piping system. Manual TIG welding is used to fabricate piping systems and components using metallic alloys that include stainless steels, aluminum, titanium, and many exotic alloys, plus dissimilar metals and wall thicknesses. TIG welding capabilities also include complete purging and glove-box environment plus rotary tables.

To maintain standards specific to high-purity applications, the internal quality of welds is inspected with a borescope, and documentation includes procedure specifications, material inspections, mill test reports, and gas certification, as well as welder, inspection, and coupon logs.

Licensing and certifications for welding include:
• Qualified Welding Procedures in accordance with ASME Section IX
• Certified Welders in accordance with ASME Section IX
• Licensed Journeymen Pipe Fitters
• Certified Level II Welding Inspectors in accordance with ASNT TC 1A

Plastic Welding

MJC Shafts and Rolls also offers “fusion-and-stick” plastic welding to create piping systems, manifold assemblies, and fabrications that others often consider too challenging. Commonly welded plastics include Teflon®, PVDF, polypropylene, Kynar®, and others.
